Solar and Battery Installation Castle Hill NSW
Why add a battery
Your panels make power at noon. You pay for it at 7pm.
Most homes send daytime solar to the grid for very little, then buy power back at full price after dark. A battery keeps that energy at home.
Use your own solar at night
Store what your panels make during the day and use it after sunset instead of buying it back.
Stay off peak prices
Night is the most expensive time to draw from the grid. The right battery and inverter keep your home off it.
Cut the upfront cost
Federal and NSW rebates can bring the price down. We check what applies to your home.
Grow when you do
Stackable battery modules, and room to add solar or an EV charger later.
The Sunharvest difference
We only use 8kW or bigger inverters.
Built to last. Sized for your whole evening.

One charge cycle a day? Up to 10,000 cycles is over 27 years of use.

FAQs
Solar battery questions answered.
How does a solar battery work?
Your panels charge the battery during the day. After sunset your home draws from the battery instead of the grid, so you buy less power at peak prices.
Why does inverter size matter?
The inverter sets how much power your battery can deliver at once. Run the oven, aircon and EV charger together and a small inverter runs out of headroom, so your home pulls the rest from the grid. We recommend at least 8kW.
Do I need solar panels to get a battery?
Not always. We can add a Sumray battery to many existing solar systems. It must pair with a Solis inverter, so we check your system at the free inspection.
What does the 15 year warranty cover?
Sumray’s 15 year warranty covers defects in the battery’s hardware and electronics for 15 years from installation. It also guarantees the battery keeps at least 60% of its usable energy for 15 years, or until 10,000 full charge cycles, whichever comes first. Claims go through your installer, and Sumray covers replacement parts and, in some areas, transport and labour. Report any fault within one month.
How long does an install take?
Most installs are booked within 3 to 5 days of signing your quote. The install itself is usually completed in one day.
Are the rebates still worth it, and does the rebate go down?
Most NSW homes can claim the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. The discount depends on your battery’s usable capacity and installation date, and it steps down each 1 January and 1 July until 2030. Booking sooner rather than later can mean a higher rebate.
Do I need council approval?
Usually not for a battery in a standard home, but it depends on your property and location. We’ll tell you what applies at your inspection.
Which areas do you service?
We're based in Castle Hill and install across NSW.
